Positivity constraints in QCD
نویسنده
چکیده
The density matrix positivity is a natural counterpart of unitarity. The resulting constraints for various parton distribution and correlations are considered. Their compatibility with leading order QCD evolution is guaranteed by the probabilistic interpretation of the latter. In the case of non-forward distributions the positivity constraints naturally imply the symmetric form of the evolution equation. The positivity of density matrix is just the positivity of its eigenvalues λi ≥ 0, (1) required, together with the normalization condition

Role of Positivity Constraints in Determining Polarized Parton Densities
We have re-analyzed the world data on inclusive polarized DIS, in both NLO and LO QCD, including the very precise JLab Hall A neutron data, and have studied the role of positivity constraints, and demonstrated their importance, in determining the strange and gluon densities. We have shown that higher twist corrections are essential in the analysis of the present data on the structure function g...
متن کاملThe Effect of Positivity Constraints on Polarized Parton Densities
The impact of positivity constraints on the polarized parton densities has been studied. Special attention has been paid to the role of positivity constraints in determining the polarized strange quark and gluon densities, which are not well determined from the present data on inclusive polarized DIS. Spurred on by the famous European Muon Collaboration (EMC) experiment [1] at CERN in 1987, the...
متن کاملNonstandard explicit third-order Runge-Kutta method with positivity property
When one solves differential equations, modeling physical phenomena, it is of great importance to take physical constraints into account. More precisely, numerical schemes have to be designed such that discrete solutions satisfy the same constraints as exact solutions. Based on general theory for positivity, with an explicit third-order Runge-Kutta method (we will refer to it as RK3 method) pos...
متن کاملConstraints on Chiral Perturbation Theory Parameters from QCD Inequalities
We explore some of the constraints imposed by positivity of the QCD measure (Weingarten’s inequalities) on the parameters defining chiral perturbation theory. We find, in particular, that 2mq(μ) ≤ B0(μ)Z(μ). The use of further properties of the exact fermion propagator yields information on some higher order parameters. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: ...
متن کاملPolarized Parton Densities in the Nucleon
We present a new NLO QCD analysis of the world data on inclusive polarized deep inelastic scattering. Comparing to our previous analysis: i) the values of gA and a8 = 3F −D are updated ii)the MRST’99 instead of the MRST’98 parametrization for the input unpolarized parton densities is used and iii) the recent SLAC E155 proton data on the spin asymmetry A1 are included in the analysis. A new set ...
